| | Dion Strowhorn was born on the south side of Chicago and began his acting career much later than he had ever anticipated, after completing his Bachelor’s degree at Chicago State University in Liberal Arts. During his study of martial arts, raising two sons, and marriage, Dion decided he’d like to act. This was inspired by joining Family Christian Center in Munster, Indiana, where Steven Munsey is the senior pastor. Dion was introduced to Refuge Productions, the company responsible for such productions as “Jesus of Nazareth” which Dion was cast as John the Baptist and one of the twelve disciples. Dion was also in the Christmas production of “Scrooge the Musical” as the Spirit of Christmas Present and a Christmas Tree Seller. Stage does not seem to be enough as Dion has indulged in the film industry. He has been selected to be a movie extra in the following films. “Meet The Browns” as a Factory Worker directed by Tyler Perry, “Witless Protection” as a Parade Participant directed by Charles Robert Carner, “The Dark Knight” as a Businessman directed Christopher Nolan, “Baby on Board” to be released in 2009 as a Pedestrian directed by Brian Herzlinger, “Humboldt Park” as ironically enough a Casting Agent directed by Alfreda De Villa, “Baggage”, being released later this spring as a Church Member directed by Stephen Polk, just to name a few. Dion has also been cast in documentaries that chronicle much of his life, “Everlasting Love” on Chicago’ Cable Access channel gives an up close and personal look at Dion’s humble beginning, while “A Day in the Life at Juvenile Court” brings you up to speed on how much Dion has accomplished in his lifetime. Also, look for him in the Lifetime premiere of “Family Practice”, something Dion knows quite a bit about! Dion currently attends The Second City in his quest to gain more knowledge and direction about acting. Dion is sure to have the list grow with much patience and prayer!! Dion will play Vincent in the upcoming stage play “The Pawn Shop” and will be cast as Kevin in “In the Name of Love!” Peace & Blessings and I hope you enjoy the show |
